The house
One address, four trades
A shop at 51 rue de Babylone and a washing workshop of our own. Nothing is subcontracted, and that is the whole point.
Plainly
What we do, and what we don’t
We buy, clean, restore and sell hand-made oriental rugs. That is the whole list.
We do not value machine-made rugs, because they have no second-hand market and saying otherwise would waste your afternoon. We do not promise that every old rug is a treasure. And we say when a restoration costs more than the piece will be worth afterwards.
That bluntness is a commercial choice, not a personality trait: in this trade, the customers who come back are the ones who were told the truth the first time.

The neighbourhood
Rue de Babylone, between Le Bac and Les Invalides
A few doors from La Pagode, a short walk from the Musée Rodin and the Bon Marché. We travel across all of Paris, but the rugs come back here.
